Teacher Sickened After Eating Pot Brownie Left In Staff Lounge

HIGHLAND TWP. (WWJ) - Who put the pot brownies in the teacher's lounge? That's the question administrators at one local school district are asking.

Huron Valley Schools Superintendent Jim Baker said a teacher at one of the district's schools was in a staff lounge earlier this week when she ate a brownie off of a plate of home-baked goods. Later that day, she started feeling ill and went to the hospital seeking medical attention.

Police were informed of the incident and the Oakland County Crime Lab obtained a sample of the brownies. After a series of tests, officials discovered the chocolate treats were laced with marijuana.

Now, the search is on for who might have put the brownies in the lounge.

At this point, it's not clear which school the incident took place at. The Huron Valley School District is one of the largest in the state, with schools in Milford, Highland, White Lake and Commerce Township.

An investigation is ongoing.
