Wanted: Man Who Solicited Teen Girl On School Property

FRENCHTOWN TWP. (WWJ) - Authorities in Monroe County are looking for a man who offered a teenage girl $100 to get into his car.

It happened at 7:50 a.m. Tuesday after the student got out of her car in the parking lot of Jefferson High School — on Williams Road in Frenchtown Township — and was walking toward the building.

Monroe County Sheriff Dale Malone says a "suspicious white male" in his mid 50s offered cash to the girl, telling her he wanted to "have some fun."

The female student ran into the school unharmed.

The suspect, seen in a sketch released Thursday, was driving a bluish/gray smaller four-door sedan, possibly a Ford 500, with a sunroof. The sheriff's office also released surveillance photos of the vehicle.

Malone said his department has increased patrols around the school and they're looking for tips from the public to help find he suspect.

Anyone who recognizes the man in the sketch or who has any information about this crime is asked to call the Monroe County Sheriff's Detective Bureau at 734-240-7530.
