Report: Authorities Didn't Check Shooting Victim For 1 Hour

WHITE CLOUD, Mich. (AP) - A newspaper investigation has determined authorities were on the scene of a Newaygo County homicide in May for more than an hour before they discovered one of the victims was still alive.

The Grand Rapids Press says police reports from the investigation into a shooting that killed 46-year-old Martin Duram and critically injured his wife show multiple first responders assumed 47-year-old Glenna Duram was dead. Police reports indicate no one checked Glenna Duram's pulse until more than an hour after she was discovered May 13 when authorities responded to the couple's Ensley Township home.

When state police finally touched the injured woman, Glenna Duram's eyes opened and she asked what was happening.

Glenna Duram survived the shooting. No one has been charged with any crime related to the case.
