HARSENS ISLAND, Mich. (AP) – A man’s body has been pulled from the North Channel of the St. Clair River off Harsens Island, northeast of Detroit.

The St. Clair County sheriff’s office says area residents saw the body floating in a cut off the river about 10:30 a.m. Wednesday and called authorities.

The deceased is described only as an older white male. Police were trying to determine his identification and were checking missing persons’ databases.

An autopsy will be performed to determine how the man died.
