Detroit Home Searched In Connection With Major Meth Ring Bust

DETROIT (WWJ) - A raid on a Detroit home is tied to a major drug ring bust in southern Indiana, authorities say.

Officials with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration told WWJ Newsradio 950 they were joined, Friday morning, by other law enforcement officers in the state to conduct a search at a home on Collingswood St., on Detroit's west side.

DEA officials said it's too early in the investigation to share any details, but they did confirm that the search was connected to a methamphetamine and oxymorphone ring in Scott County, Indiana, that's reportedly also linked to an HIV epidemic in that area.

Indiana station RTV6 reports a total of five warrants were served and 10 people wanted in connection with the case were taken into custody Friday morning following a six-month investigation.

The bust is also connected to a search in Louisville, Kentucky.

The names of those arrested were not immediately released.
