Tips Wanted After Coast Guard Search Finds No Sign Of Man Missing Near Chene Park

DETROIT (WWJ) - Police are looking for tips in the disappearance of a man near Chene Park in Detroit.

Police say security camera footage shows 37-year-old Lynn Oliver Morton, Jr. entering Chene Park on Saturday, Jan. 30, at 5:18 p.m.

After some articles of Morton's clothing were found at the Detroit River shore, near Chene Park, the Coast Guard did a complete aerial and water search, but didn't find anything.

Later that Saturday evening, Morton may have been spotted at a BP gas station on the corner of Belleville Rd. and the I-94 service drive in Belleville.

Police say Morton is mentally impaired and may appear to be dazed and confused, but is unarmed and is not a threat to strangers.

Morton is a black male, 6 feet, 2 inches tall and around 240 lbs. He was last seen wearing a dark sweatsuit (workout gear) with no coat. Police say he is likely traveling on foot.

Anyone who may have seen Morton or who knows of his whereabouts is asked to call Van Buren Township police at 734-699-8930.

Crime Stoppers of Michigan is offering a cash reward of up to $2,500 for information that leads to finding him.

If you have any information regarding Lynn's whereabouts, we are asking that you make an anonymous call to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP or visit www.1800speakup.org or text: CSM and your tip to 274637. Your identity is always 100% anonymous.
