DETROIT (CBS Detroit) - A cash reward of up to $1,000 is being offered for tips leading to the arrest of a federal fugitive who may be hiding out in the Detroit area.

Crime Stoppers on Wednesday released photos of 26-year-old Martel Donte Strong of Detroit, who is wanted on federal charges for "crimes of violence" in connection with a RICO conspiracy case.

Strong is one of 12 alleged members of the "Rollin 60s Crips" street gang charged in an indictment Wednesday, following an investigation by a multi-agency task force involving the ATF, FBI, Michigan State Police and local law enforcement.

The indictment alleges the "Rollin 60s Crips" is a violent organization responsible for assaults, robberies, carjackings and the illegal trafficking of firearms and narcotics in metro Detroit over the last nine years.

According to a release by the U.S. Attorney's Office, Strong is charged with RICO conspiracy. Several of his alleged associates are already in custody.

Crime Stoppers reminds the public that Strong and other fugitives should be considered armed and dangerous.

Anyone who sees Strong or knows of his whereabouts is urged not to try to apprehend him, but to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP. Tips may also be submitted online at this link, or by texting CSM and the tip to CRIMES (2746370).

Those who feel they are in danger should dial 911.
