Body Of Missing Michigan Woman Found In Woods

BALDWIN TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WWJ/AP) - The body of a 33-year-old woman originally from Ferndale has been found in a wooded area in Iosco County.

Michigan State Police told the Bay City Times that a K-9 unit found Angela Kay Bartman's remains in Baldwin Township, near Monument and Anderson roads, Wednesday night — about 300 yards away from where her Jeep had earlier been found.

Sgt. Pete McNamara said Bartman's vehicle likely got stuck in the snow. When it ran out of gas, he said, it appears Bartman to get out and walk. He said she wasn't dressed for winter weather and it appears she got disoriented.

Foul play isn't suspected.

Bartman had been living in National City and was last seen Feb. 9 on her way to a gas station.

Friends and family in metro Detroit had been handing out fliers as part of the search. Bartman had previously lived in Ferndale and had attended Ferndale High School.
