Monroe Man Arrested For Soliciting Teen Girl Outside School

FRENCHTOWN TWP. (WWJ) - Monroe County Sheriff's detectives have tracked down a man who allegedly offered a high school student $100 to "have some fun."

Jerome Hyrne, 46, of Monroe Township was arrested more than a month after the incident the morning of Jan. 5, in the parking lot of Frenchtown Township's Jefferson High School.

The female student ran into the school, following the encounter, unharmed.

A witness told deputies the suspect was driving a mint green Ford 500 sedan with a sunroof, as seen in security photos released by the sheriff's office.

Detectives searched for all Ford 500s in the county and were eventually able to identify Hyrne, who is now facing charges of accosting and solicitation of a minor.

Hyrne was arraigned in First District Court court Thursday afternoon at which time a $1,000 cash/surety bond was set.

Anyone with additional information about this case is asked to contact the Monroe County Sheriff's Detective Bureau at 734-240-7530.
