DETROIT (WWJ) – New in theaters this weekend: “Race,” based on the incredible true story of legendary track and field athlete Jesse Owens.

Owens grew up in Depression-era America, determined to rise above his circumstances and create a better life for himself and his family. His talent and determination took him all the way to the 1936 Olympics. The story of Jesse Owens is one that is inspiring and deserves to be seen.
