5 Passengers In 2013 Greyhound Bus Crash Settle For $6M
DALLAS (AP) - Greyhound Lines has reached a $6 million settlement with five passengers aboard a Greyhound bus that rolled over on an Ohio highway in 2013.
Attorneys for the passengers announced the settlement in a statement Monday. The lawsuit was filed in 2013 in a county court in Dallas, where Greyhound is headquartered.
At least 35 people were injured when the bus, en route from Cincinnati to Detroit, rolled off Interstate 75 and rolled over in a corn field about 25 miles north of Cincinnati. A State Highway Patrol investigation found that the bus driver reported he was drinking coffee when he had a coughing spasm and lost consciousness.
The lawsuit alleged the driver fell asleep at the wheel.
Greyhound declined comment.
