Wright State Beats Oakland 59-55 In Horizon League Semis

DETROIT (AP) — Mark Alstork scored 18, and JT Yoho added 15 points — including the go-ahead jumper with 24 seconds to play — to lead third-seeded Wright State past No. 2 seed Oakland 59-55 Monday night in the semifinals of the Horizon League tournament.

Daniel Mortensen hit three 3s and finished with 11 for the Raiders (22-12), who will face fourth-seeded Green Bay (21-12) in the championship game Tuesday night.

Jalen Hayes converted a 3-point play to put Oakland (21-11) up 52-50 with three minutes left.

Mortensen answered with a 3-pointer and, after Kay Felder hit two free throws for the Golden Grizzlies, a jumper by Biggie Minnis gave Wright State a one-point lead with 58 seconds remaining.

Felder hit 1 of 2 free throws to tie it at 55-all seven seconds later, but Minnis found Yoho for a jumper and then Felder missed a driving layup.

Alstork made two foul shots with 10 seconds left to seal it.

Felder led Oakland with 18 points on 5-of-19 shooting. Hayes scored 14 with 10 rebounds.

Oakland's Max Hooper hit three 3-pointers and finished with nine points. His father, Chip Hooper, died last Saturday after a four-year battle with cancer.
