One of my memories from the old Pontiac Silverdome was that just about every game involved a fight in the stands, but I have never understood why fans get into fights at sporting events. I’m guessing liquid courage usually has something to do with it.

Tuesday night, the Detroit Red Wings and the Columbus Blue Jackets faced off on the ice while two fans faced off in the stands.

One fan at the game posted on Twitter how he had sensed a fight would happen.

Then he documented the fight via tweets and videos.

Security quickly grabbed up the fighters.
