BIRMINGHAM (WWJ/AP) – Authorities say a few thousand dollars was found loose on the ground in a Detroit suburb, and it’s waiting for the right person with the right information.

Someone found it and turned it over to Birmingham police. Officers say they will return the money to the owner if they can provide specific details about it.

The money was found Thursday in a commercial area near Woodward Avenue.

Officers declined to release more information.
