'Pimp' Convicted Of Running Oakland-Macomb-Wayne County Sex Ring

LANSING (WWJ) - A "Detroit area pimp" could spend the rest of his life behind bars after he was convicted of running a tri-county prostitution ring.

Michigan Attorney General Bill Schuette Tuesday announced that 38-year-old Jahan Satati Green of Inkster was found guilty on five felony charges in connection with a sex operation across Oakland, Macomb and Wayne counties.

Green was arrested by Schuette's Human Trafficking Unit in June 2015 after an extensive investigation conducted by the Department of Homeland Security.

Schuette said an investigation revealed that Green had orchestrated an online "escort" operation beginning in 2006. In the court of operating that businesses, Schuette said, Green assaulted one particular young victim for six years, forcing her to engage in sex acts for money. He also transported or arranged for transportation of the victims to Detroit-area hotels and then collected the money they made.

Green was convicted on two counts of Prostitution/Transporting a Person, two counts of Prostitution/Accepting Earnings, and one count of Criminal Enterprises – Conducting.

Each of the five offenses carries a 20 year maximum sentence. However, because of his prior record, Schuette said, Green will be sentenced as a Third Felony Offender — which doubles the maximum allowed sentence to up to 40 years.

"Prostitution continues to be an issue I am dedicated to fighting in our state," said Schuette. "As a husband and father it never gets easier to hear about this horrific crime. I continue to be dedicated to finding justice for these victims and working toward eradicating this issue completely."

Green, who is out on bond, is scheduled to be sentenced on Monday, April 11 in Wayne County Circuit Court.
