Prosecutor: There Could Be More Victims Of Sexual Abuse Out There

DETROIT (WWJ) - There could be more victims out there in the case of a Detroit Pubic School's basketball coach accused of sexual abuse involving his students.

During a video arraignment for 28-year-old Antoine Jones, Jennifer Tienk with the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office told the court that they are interviewing more victims.

"So you are saying there could be additional victims?" asked Judge Charles Anderson.

"Yes, we anticipate that there will be more charges coming with additional victims," said Tienk.

Prosecutors allege Jones engaged in "inappropriate sexual contact" with some of the boys he coached between November 2014 through March 2016 at A.L. Holmes Middle School. The investigation involved six males between the ages of 13 and 15, prosecutors said.

Jones was  charged with several counts of criminal sexual conduct, child sexually abusive activity, using a computer to commit a crime, distributing sexually explicit matter to children and other crimes.

Bond was set at $1 million.

A not guilty plea was entered on his behalf.

Jones is due back in court on April 6.
