30-Piece Orchestra Makes Movie Music At The Detroit Opera House [VIDEO]

DETROIT (WWJ) - One of the last movies to receive a Michigan film tax incentive will boast a spectacular soundtrack —featuring some of the best musicians in the business.

"It's the life story of Jeanne Starr Gater and Julius Gater," Delano Glass, producer of the film "Bring Back Summertime," explained. "Julius was an auto executive, and he had a tragic accident, and it kind of changed the dynamic of their family life."

WWJ City Beat Reporter Vickie Thomas was on hand as the final scene of the movie was filmed with a 30-piece orchestra (which will actually appear in the movie) performing the main theme on stage at the opulent Detroit Opera House.

Music supervisor for the movie, Donnie Lewis, has some real Detroit credentials.

"I'm one of the Motown artists; I came here with Eddie Kendricks in 1973, toured with him for a while. Then I went back out with the Dramatics for a while, went out with Aretha, been with Aretha. I've been with the Miracles for the last, what, 20 years," Lewis said.

Principle filming for the movie begins in Detroit and in the Bahamas later this spring.
