The Snack Attack: New Starburst Gummies Might Just Be Better Than The Original Candy [TASTE TEST]

I was at Meijer the other day and just about lost it when I saw a new product that combines two of my favorite candies: Starburst and gummies. And then I realized they made a sour version. Mind blown!

I'm talking about new Starburst Gummies. Set for nationwide introduction this summer, these gummies might just be the juiciest Starburst yet. And they are SO flavorful, they might even be better tasting than the original candy, which was introduced in the U.S. back in 1967. Yes, these new gummies definitely are "unexplainably juicy." And best of all, you don't even need to unwrap these. Just pop 'em in your mouth an enjoy!

The gummies are available in both original and sour flavors for about $3 a bag, which is re-sealable so you don't have to eat them all at once -- ya know, if you're in to that sort of thing. They were on sale when I found them, 2 for $5. SCORE!

If you like Starburst you MUST try these!

Starburst Gummies Original contains the four delicious fruit flavors we all love: Strawberry, Cherry, Orange and Lemon.

The soft gummy texture of this candy is perfection. It doesn't stick to your teeth and there's just enough chewiness. I'm not lying when I say these flavors taste exactly how you expect them to, like the regular Starburst. I was honestly shocked at how right-on the flavors were. The only negative thing I have to say about these is that the color of the strawberry gummies is so similar to the orange gummies they are really hard to tell apart.

I'd rank these gummies in order of tastiness probably the same I would regular Starburst: Strawberry is the best, followed by cherry, orange and lemon.

Starburst Gummies: Sour Flavor

Starburst Gummies Sours contain four sour-packed fruit flavors: Strawberry, Cherry, Blue Raspberry and Watermelon.

The package says sour and it's not kidding. I'm usually disappointed by sour-flavored things because most are usually just sugary sweet and not actually tart. As a kid who grew up eating Extreme Sour Warheads, it's hard to find a candy that satisfies my sour cravings. Well, not any more. I was shocked at just how sour these gummies actually are. Every piece isn't just dusted with sour powder, it's covered with the stuff.

Once you get through the sourness, the cherry and strawberry flavors are pretty true to the originals. The blue raspberry introduces a delicious berry flavor to the mix and the watermelon, which I found to be the most sour, is phenomenal -- even though they both taste slightly artificial.

In order of tastiness, the alternative flavors outrank the originals: Watermelon is the best, followed by blue raspberry, cherry and strawberry.
