Last Minute Tax Filers: Tips For Taking Care Of Uncle Sam On Deadline

DETROIT (WWJ) - For most Americans today is the filing deadline for their tax returns. CBS News Technology Analyst Larry Magid has some tips on how to file electronically before the midnight deadline.

"There are a number of services including TurboTax.com that will let you file for free or a fee depending upon your income and the complexity of your return," says Magid. "Turbo Tax even has a smart phone app that lets you do your taxes on your phone - they'll also file state taxes for you but you have to pay extra for that."

Tax preparers point out that even if you file for an extension -- you still have to pay your tax liability (or make payment arrangements) by deadline today.
