SVG Fined $25K For Criticizing How Refs Officiate LeBron [VIDEO]

DETROIT (CBS Detroit) -- Detroit Pistons coach Stan Van Gundy has been penalized by the NBA for his comments about how the referees officiated Cleveland star LeBron James during Saturday's Game 1.

Van Gundy voiced his displeasure with the amount of offensive fouls LeBron seemingly gets way with and the NBA responded by hitting him with a $25,000 fine.

"A couple calls have upset our guys," Van Gundy told ABC's Lisa Salters following the first quarter. "They've got to understand LeBron's LeBron -- they're not going to call offensive fouls on him, he gets to do what he wants. They've got to understand that."

The NBA's official release:

"Detroit Pistons head coach Stan Van Gundy has been fined $25,000 for public criticism of officiating, it was announced today by Kiki VanDeWeghe, Executive Vice President, Basketball Operations.

Van Gundy made his comments in a live television interview during the Pistons' 106-101 loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers on April 17 at Quicken Loans Arena."

The Pistons trail the Cavaliers in the best-of-seven series, 1-0. Game 2 will tip-off at 8 p.m. on Wednesday from Cleveland.
