Detroit Athletes Show Off Their Hot Rides

The life of an athlete can be tough: the endless practice sessions, the beating your body takes, the angry fans, the inevitable disappointment when things don't work out like they should.

But don't cry for them, Argentina, because there are payoffs a'plenty.

Some of those playoffs involve having beautiful women on their arm seemingly around the clock. No one need look further than Tigers ace Justin Verlander and his swimsuit supermodel girlfriend Kate Upton for evidence.

But there are also rides of other kids. Cars, folks, we're talking about hot, hot cars.

Check out some of these fantasies in steel in which Detroit athletes have been spotted tooling around.

Justin Verlander

His screaming orange Lamborghini were spotted by savvy viewers at last year's Woodward Dream Cruise. And extra savvy viewers with a good vantage could see that his passenger was none other than blonde goddess Upton, sporting a shiny blonde pony tail and a big smile.

Verlander talked about his car exclusively with CBS Detroit HERE.

Alfredo Simon

The Tigers starter drives chrome Mercedes s63 AMG. It's a pretty sweet ride that is definitely one of a kind and he knows it. And, let's not forget about his unique nickname as people affectionately refer to him as "Big Pasta!"

Check out this video to find out if Simon thinks his Mercedes is cooler than one of Justin Verlander's cars or even Yoenis Cespedes's fire breathing Lamborghini. Simon also talks about his unique nickname "Big Pasta" and how he got it.

Miguel Cabrera

Where to start with Miggy? He's a fan favorite for a reason, even beyond his mighty swing. Miggy is loaded with personality, swagger, a sense of fun, and what must be a giant garage packed with plenty of sweet steel. He was spotted in a 1955 Chevy Bel Air at spring training last year.

It's worth noting the car belonged to Jose Iglesias. (It's good to have friends on the teams.)

Yoenis Cespedes

Instead of settling for a standard Lamborghini Aventador, new Detroit Tigers outfielder Yoenis Cespedes splurged for a total upgrade by the Auto Firm in Miami, spending about $100,000 for the customization of his supercar. Get the details HERE.

It came stock with 700 horsepower and a top speed of 217 miles per hour.

He also showed off a custom Ford F-250 at spring trainingthat had chins wagging from Detroit to Florida.

Andre Drummond

Not to be outdone by the boys of summer, the Pistons' Andre Drummond strutted in his $94k Mercedes Benz S550, which was dressed to the nines by DynamicCustoms Detroit. Who knows what the final price tag was?

If you have to ask, you can't afford it.

The color is supposed to be matte red, but it looks orange. If I was Dre, I'd say it's basketball orange, because that's exactly what it looks like.
