Kid Rock's Assistant Killed In Crash At Singer's Property

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WWJ/AP) - Kid Rock's assistant was killed in an ATV accident overnight at a suburban Nashville property belonging to the singer.

Thirty-year-old Michael Sacha, of Farmington Hills, Mich., was found lying face down on the side of a driveway of Rock's White Creek house early Monday morning. Nashville Fire Department spokesman Brian Haas told The Tennessean that Sacha was deceased by the time the department arrived.

A news release from the Metro Nashville Police Department says the accident happened when Sacha drove two people down the driveway to meet an Uber driver at midnight. Sacha crashed while riding the ATV back to the residence.

Kid Rock, whose real name is Robert Ritchie, and a friend found Sacha on an embankment late Monday morning and called for help.

The police department tweeted Monday evening that Sacha's death has been classified as accidental.

Kid Rock, in a statement on his website, said he was "beyond devastated" over Sacha's death.

"He was a member of our family and one of the greatest young men I have ever had the pleasure to not only work with, but also to become friends with. I know I speak for us all in sharing my deepest condolences to his family. I can not imagine how they must feel. Myself, the band, our family, friends and co-workers are devastated over this loss. We were supposed to be back in Michigan today, but I am going to stay here with Mike until I can bring him home to his family. We've already been contacted by the press asking if it was me who was in the accident, so I want to stop any rumors before they spread. I'm asking everyone to please respect our and his families' privacy in this difficult time. RIP Mike. We will never forget you, my friend."
