Traffic Alert: Weekend Road Work
DETROIT (WWJ) – The weekend is here again, which means construction crews are going to be out in full force.
The following road work projects have been announced by MDOT. As always, some of this work may be postponed due to weather.
Reminder: I-275 south is closed from I-696/I-96/M-5 to 5 Mile Road through July. Detour east I-696 to south M-10 to south M-39 to west I-96.
I-696/I-275/M-5:
In Oakland County, west I-696 ramp to south I-275/east M-5, ramp closed until end of May. Detour north on M-5 to one of Mile roads, then south M-5 to east M-5.
I-275:
In Wayne County, north I-275 from Ann Arbor Road to 5 Mile, two left lanes closed, two right lanes open from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday for road work.
I-75:
In Wayne County, north/south I-75 from I-94 to 8 Mile, moving left shoulder closures, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Thursday for freeway lighting.
In Wayne County, north/south I-75 from I-94 to M-8 (Davison), moving left lane closures nightly 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Friday through Sunday for freeway lighting. (All north lanes will be open Fri night for Tigers' game).
In Oakland County, south I-75 from Giddings Road to Clintonville Road, two lanes closed nightly 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday through Friday for construction.
In Oakland County, south I-75 from M-15 (Ortonville) to Sashabaw, two lanes closed nightly 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday through Friday for construction.
In Oakland County, north/south I-75 at Sashabaw, a 15 minute total closure during 8 a.m. hour Saturday for utility work.
In Oakland County, south I-75 at Sashabaw, right shoulder closures daily 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday through Friday for maintenance.
I-94:
In Macomb County, east/west I-94 from Conner Ave to 8 Mile, moving right lane closures, 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday for freeway lighting.
In Macomb County, east/west Martin Road at I-94 single lane closures 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday for maintenance.
In Wayne County, west I-94 ramp to Beaubien/M-1 (Woodward), ramp closed 12 a.m. Saturday to 12 p.m. Monday for road work.
In Wayne County, west I-94 ramp to Belleville, ramp closed 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday for road work.
In Wayne County, east I-94 exit to south Merriman, ramp closed 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Saturday for freeway lighting.
In Wayne County, I-94 ramp FROM north Middlebelt, ramp closed 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Saturday for freeway lighting.
I-375:
In Wayne County, west Jefferson from I-375 to Woodward, right lane closed 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday for sign work.
M-1 (Woodward):
In Oakland County, north/south M-1 from Long Lake to Square Lake, right lane closures 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for utility work.
M-59:
In Macomb County, west M-59 exit to Auburn; ramp closed 10 a.m. Friday to 3 p.m. Monday for concrete repair.
In Macomb County, Merrill Rd bridge (between Mound/Van Dyike) over M-59, Merrill road bridge will be closed 10 a.m. Friday to 8 a.m. Saturday for concrete repairs.
M-85: (Fort St)
In Wayne County, M-85 at Clark Street, single lane closed 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday for utility work.
US-24 (Telegraph):
In Wayne County, US-24 ramp to east I-96, ramp closed 9 p.m. Monday to 5 a.m. Tuesday for freeway lighting.
In Wayne County, north/south US-24, Will Carleton to Vreeland, right lane closed, 7 a.m. Monday to 3 p.m. Tuesday for signing work.
