JACKSON (AP) — Police in Jackson are investigating the early-morning shooting death of a 27-year-old man.

The Jackson Citizen Patriot reports Deputy Chief Elmer Hitt said in a news release that the victim was brought to the Henry Ford Allegiance Hospital about 4:30 a.m. Sunday by a female acquaintance after he was shot in the chest. The victim was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at the hospital.

The name of the victim has not been released.

Hitt says no arrests have been made.
