Plymouth-Canton School Bus Monitor Charged With Child Sex Assault

NORTHVILLE (WWJ) - A Plymouth Township man is accused of sexually assaulting a child – and more charges could be coming soon.

Northville Township police arrested 46-year-old Rocky Perillo on Wednesday and he pleaded not guilty in 35th District Court in Plymouth Thursday to two felony counts.

The first charge, first degree criminal sexual conduct involving a child under 13, carries a 25 year minimum prison sentence. The second charge, second degree criminal sexual conduct involving a child under 13, carries a 15 year sentence.

Police said Perillo worked as a bus monitor for Plymouth-Canton Community Schools, but these cases didn't involve any Plymouth-Canton students.

Police said an investigation now underway stems from an incident that occurred when Perillo was a home health care provider.

Police say the school district and Durham School Services, which employs the bus monitors, are aware of the charges and are cooperating with the investigation.

Perillo remains held on $750,000 bond and will be back in court for a pre-trial hearing on May 20.

Anyone who may have concerns about Perillo or any information that could help investigators with this case is asked to call the Northville Township Police Department's Detective Bureau at 248-349-9400.
