Tigers' Ausmus Suspended One Game Due To Home Plate Tirade [VIDEO]

DETROIT (WWJ) - Monday night's tirade by Detroit Tiger's manager Brad Ausmus is paying off with a one-game suspension -- he'll sit out the evening game against Minnesota.

Fans have been vocal about their desire for Ausmus to show a little fire on the field and they got what they wanted plus some insurance footage in the process during the game against the Minnesota Twins after Nick Castellanos was called out at the plate on a questionable strike.

About an hour before the game the commissioner's office released a statement saying the suspension was for excessive arguing and his actions following his ejection.

Gene Lamont, the bench coach, will be filling in for Ausmus.

Ausmus was immediately ejected by home plate umpire Doug Eddings after arguing the call. He got his money's worth though, getting in Eddings' face and going on a tirade for the ages.
