2 Shot At Rosa Parks Transit Center In Downtown Detroit

DETROIT (WWJ) - Police are investigating a double shooting near a busy downtown Detroit bus station.

Police confirmed it happened at around 1:30 p.m. Wednesday near the Rosa Parks Transit Center which is at the corner of Michigan Ave. and Cass.

Two men — reportedly 21 and 25 years old — were taken to Detroit Receiving Hospital. According to Detroit's transit police, those same men were also under arrest in connection with the shooting.

Reports say multiple shots were fired. The victims' conditions remain unknown.

One bus rider, who didn't want to give his name, wasn't surprised by what happened.

"That's normal stuff down here — this is the transit center," he told WWJ's Sandra McNeill.

"I've worked around here...you see everything. I've seen everything underneath the sun that happens down here. People get beat up, people get robbed; stuff goes down here."

It's unclear what may have prompted the shooting.
