Suspect Fatally Strikes Pedestrian In Southwest Detroit, Drives Off With Body On Car

DETROIT (WWJ) - Authorities are searching for a suspect who allegedly drove away from the scene of a fatal accident with the victim's body splayed across his windshield.

The incident happened Tuesday night on Michigan Avenue at Cicotte Street, just west of Livernois Avenue in southwest Detroit.

Police say a red Chevy Cavalier was traveling at a high rate of speed when it struck a man who was crossing the street. The victim ended up on the hood of the car as the suspect allegedly continued driving for about two blocks. The suspect then pulled into an alley and reportedly removed the victim's body from the vehicle, then fled the scene.

Police identified the victim as 52-year-old Bruce Key.

Investigators are looking for up to five suspects: a white male who was driving, and four black males who were passengers.

Anyone with information is urged to contact police at 313-596-1462 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP.
