Weekend Warm Up! Forecast Calls For Gorgeous Spring Weather Into Next Week
DETROIT (WWJ) - It's finally some weather we can all agree is fantastic.
Forecasters are calling for quite a bit of warmth and sunshine over the weekend and into next week, with that mythical 80-degree mark on the horizon.
WWJ AccuWeather Meteorologist Dean Devore says we could see a couple of showers in some areas of metro Detroit overnight Friday, especially south of the city. A drop or two could continue into the morning, with some clouds sticking around on Saturday — but that's where the bad news ends.
"We're looking at a beautiful day on Sunday with temperatures mid-70s and then warming up close to 80 for Monday and Tuesday next week," Devore said. "We should be mostly in the good stuff now through the next five days."
Looking further ahead, although it will stay warm, there could be some thunderstorms on tap Wednesday and Thursday.
Here's the detailed forecast from the CBS Detroit Weather team:
Friday: Partly cloudy. High 69F. Winds E at 5 to 10 mph.
Friday Night: Cloudy skies. Low 53F. Winds NE at 5 to 10 mph.
