Former Pistons Players Help In Detroit Tree Planting Effort

DETROIT (AP) — Former Pistons players Earl Cureton and John Long are helping with a project to plant trees at a Detroit park.

The retired NBA players on Friday plan to work with nonprofit The Greening of Detroit and about 35 students from Detroit at Rouge Park.

The trees being planted were donated on behalf of the Pistons' Trees for Threes initiative, which pledged $15 for every made Pistons 3-pointer up to $10,000 during the 2015-16 season.

After reaching their goal, the Pistons last month presented a check to The Greening of Detroit, a group dedicated to supporting urban reforestation.
