ECKFORD TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) – A 35-year-old man was killed in southern Michigan in a crash that sent his 2-year-old daughter to the hospital.
WOOD-TV reports the man’s vehicle left the road about 12:30 a.m. Sunday and went into a wooded area in Eckford Township in Calhoun County, about 25 miles southeast of Battle Creek. Calhoun County sheriff’s deputies say the crash was reported by an off-duty Calhoun County detective who heard the crash and then heard a child crying.
The girl was trapped inside and had to be extricated. She was taken to the hospital by ambulance where she was listed in stable condition.
The crash remains under investigation.
