Wife's 911 Call Released In Edsel Ford II Alleged Domestic Violence Incident [AUDIO]

"He's going to be Edsel Ford and tell the police he's a good man."

Those are the words spoken by Cynthia Ford to 911 dispatchers in audio from last week's 911 call placed by the wife of Edsel Ford II. The call led to his arrest for suspected domestic violence.

The two and a half minute call by Cynthia Ford to Grosse Pointe Farms Police described how he was stretching her arms in an abusive way. The call came in at 10:51 p.m. on July 4 from the family's lakefront mansion.

She tells the police she's "Mrs. Edsel Ford and I'm being abused by my  husband." He allegedly took away her phone, wrestling with her, as she tried to record the incident.

After police arrived, Edsel Ford, 67, the great-grandson of Henry Ford, was taken away to spend the night in jail, but the Grosse Pointe Farms city attorney declined to press criminal charges given the lack of evidence.

Cynthia Ford later issued a statement through her attorney saying she was not a victim of domestic violence. It was also later revealed that the Grosse Pointe Farms police chief is a pal of Ford Motor Co. Executive Chairman Bill Ford Jr. and has worked as his personal bodyguard.

The Detroit News obtained the police report, and in it, officers noted they detected a strong odor of intoxicants coming from Ford.

"(The officer) asked Ford if he became physical with his wife and he stated 'yes we both were being physical with each other, but I did not hit her,' " the report said.
