Mother Charged With Murder, Abuse In 4-Year-Old Son's Death

FLINT, Mich. (AP) - A 33-year-old Michigan woman has been charged with murder and child abuse in the death of her 4-year-old son.

Jamia Robinson was arraigned Wednesday.

WNEM-TV reports that Jordyn Mathena was taken to a hospital Sunday and died Monday.

Prosecutors say the boy suffered severe burns, head trauma and a broken nose.

Investigators were told he was pushed as he stepped into a bathtub.

A hearing is scheduled Aug. 16 on a petition filed in juvenile court to terminate Robinson's parental rights to seven other children.
