Police Identify Woman Fatally Shot While Jogging On Rural Road

ROSE TOWNSHIP (AP) — A woman fatally shot on a rural road in Oakland County was a 31-year-old nurse who regularly went for 10-mile runs.

Police identified the victim as Alexandra Brueger of Holly Township. She collapsed on someone's lawn in Rose Township after being shot in the back Saturday on Fish Lake Road.

Brueger's parents say she had no enemies, although state police are trying to determine if she knew the shooter.

A friend, Thais Peck, says Brueger was an "only child that couldn't be loved more."

Police were looking for a light-color four-door sedan that may have been speeding on Fish Lake Road between 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. Saturday.

Peck says Brueger's friends are talking to each other and putting "little pieces" together. She predicts the killer will be caught.
