State Police Seek Tips In Romeo Woman's 'Suspicious Death'

BRUCE TOWNSHIP (WWJ) - Michigan State Police are asking for tips from the public as they investigate what they're calling the "suspicious death" of a 48-year-old woman in Macomb County last week.

Troopers from the MSP Metro North Post responded the evening of Monday, July 25, to the 71000 block of Van Dyke Road in Bruce Township to a 911 call about a  fire with a female victim.

She's since been identified as Sue Chandler of Romeo.

The property owner told investigators that he and his son discovered the body along with some fire damage as they were checking on what they'd initially thought was just an air conditioning problem in a rental unit.

Police are not talking about the condition of the body or how they believe the woman may have died.

Detectives are awaiting the results of an autopsy as an investigation by the Michigan State Police Special Investigation Section and Fire Marshal Division continues.

Anyone who may have any information about this cased is asked to call 855-642-4847 (1-855-MICHTIP). Tipsters may also contact Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-SPEAK-UP.
