Man Changing Flat Tire On Shoulder Of I-94 Fatally Struck By Hit-And-Run Driver
PITTSFIELD TOWNSHIP (WWJ) - Michigan State Police are looking for a driver who fatally struck another motorist along I-94 near Ann Arbor and fled the scene.
The accident happened around 5:15 a.m. Saturday on westbound I-94 just east of State Street in Pittsfield Township.
Police say 39-year old Eswin Vasquez-Lemus, of Ypsilanti, was changing a flat tire on the shoulder of the freeway when he was struck by a passing vehicle. After the collision, the suspect sideswiped the victim's car before fleeing the scene.
Police say the suspect's vehicle appears to be a 2008 to 2011 Chevy Malibu. It will have front end damage on the passenger side.
