$2,000 Reward Offered For Tips In Carjacking, Shooting Of Elderly Detroit Man

DETROIT (WWJ) - Authorities are hoping a $2,000 cash reward is enough to convince someone to turn in the suspect wanted in connection with the carjacking and shooting of an 81-year-old man in Detroit.

The incident took place around 1:30 a.m. on Tuesday, August 30 outside of Big Daddy's Liquor on Joy Road just west of the Southfield Freeway.

Police say the victim was robbed, carjacked and shot multiple times by two suspects who fled the scene in his gray 2013 Chevy Cruze.

One of the suspects has been identified as 25-year-old Corey Hill, according to police. He's described as a black male with a medium brown complexion, 5'10" tall and 160 lbs. with black hair and brown eyes.

The other suspect has not yet been identified. He's described only as a black male.

The victim was treated at a hospital for his injuries and is expected to recover.

HEAT (Help Eliminate Auto Theft) is offering a $2,000 reward for information leading to Hill's arrest and conviction.

Anyone with information on Hill's whereabouts is urged to contact HEAT at 1-800-242-HEAT or the US Marshall's tip line at 1-313-234-565.
