SANTA CLARA, Calif. (AP) — Radio announcer Kevin Harlan used a fan who ran onto the field to spice up his call of Monday night’s game between the Los Angeles Rams and San Francisco 49ers, offering spirited play-by-play commentary as security chased down the fan.
The Westwood One announcer enthusiastically jumped into action when the fan ran onto the field with the 49ers holding a 21-0 lead in the fourth quarter, calling out the fan’s movements like he would a long touchdown run before finishing with “they tackle him at the 40-yard line” when security finally caught up.
