WESTLAND (WWJ) – Authorities say a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle and seriously injured in Westland.

The incident happened early Thursday morning at Central City Parkway and Nankin, behind the Westland Shopping Center.

After the collision, the driver stopped at the scene and called 911.

“The victim is at the hospital currently and we are investigating with the driver now,” Westland Police Officer Jeff Kopodra told WWJ’s Mike Campbell.

The victim’s current condition is unknown.

The intersection was closed while police investigated the crash scene but was reopened to traffic around 6 a.m.
