Officials: 4 Teens Responsible For Racist Graffiti On Homes

DELTA TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) - Officials say four teenagers are responsible for vulgar and racist words and images found spray-painted on homes in the Lansing area this summer.

The Eaton County sheriff's department says the 17-year-old boys all live in the Lansing area and were spending the night near the homes in Delta Township where graffiti was found in late August. Investigators say the boys likely drank alcohol before the vandalism.

Investigators say it doesn't appear that victims were targeted because of their race.

Prosecutors plan to review the case to determine possible charges. Authorities say 15 homes in the subdivision were affected by the vandalism. In a statement, Sheriff Tom Reich says he, the victims and others "were very disturbed and disgusted by these outrageous acts."
