One-Armed Golfer Xander Dobreff Defies Prognosis, Excels On The Course

In 2009, Xander Dobreff was told he may never play golf again after a devastating car accident left him without the use of his left arm. Now seven years later not only is he a member of the North American One-Armed Golfers Association -- he's also one of the top one-armed golfers in the world.

His doctor said he would never golf again after the accident, but that prognosis served as motivation. "I think it created a little chip on my shoulder ..." said Dobreff.

In April of this year he says he broke a Guinness World Record with a score of 32.

"It's something I think will inspire a lot of people behind me," said Dobreff. He hopes his example will help others facing disabilities continue to pursue their passions. "It's definitely more than the love of golf it's having people care," he added fighting back a few tears.
