From goalie masks in hockey to cleats in football, professional athletes are known for expressing themselves through their equipment.
Both Petr Mrazek and Jimmy Howard will exploit their creative license on Tuesday night when they wear specially-designed helmets to honor the military. Check out the photos below.
The Red Wings host the Tampa Bay Lightning at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday night. Mrazek, with his flashy new helmet, will get the start in goal.
Howard and Mrazek are joining a long list of players who have paid sartorial tribute to the military in the spirit of Veterans Day (Nov. 11). Lions tight end Eric Ebron, for example, wore specially-designed cleats in his team's Week 9 game versus the Minnesota Vikings.
