Ford Office Building Evacuated After Suspicious Package Found
DEARBORN (WWJ) - Hundreds of Ford workers are back to work in Dearborn after their office was evacuated due to concerns over a "suspicious package."
A Ford spokeswoman said the package was found Monday morning in the Regent Court building on the automaker's Dearborn campus. Workers were evacuated only as a precaution and no injuries were reported.
Police said the package turned out to be a clock that was mailed to the building — addressed to an employee there.
According to a statement from Ford, the package was deemed safe by investigators and the building was back to normal operations by 1:15 p.m.
About 2,000 people work in the office building, at 16800 Executive Plaza Dr.
