Detroit is definitely an artsy city, so it makes sense that there are plenty of classes for you to take if you're interested in creating something. Though the holidays have now passed, you can create something for yourself or a friend, or even to decorate your house. Check out this list for the best places in the area to take a craft class.

Bohomodern's BohoBar is where people gather to work on Do-It-Yourself projects from its menu, while providing a selection of teas and smoothies to sip on while they create. BohoBar has done the work by providing the guides, tools, and materials to create beautiful projects to take home or gift to a friend. It also offers BohoMini - Weekly and monthly kids themed art projects, musical sessions, and movement classes. While the store won't offer regular business hours until its launch this spring, it currently offers seasonal workshops and private maker parties. Customers can also book private Maker Parties, where guests will make unique DIY projects that are stylish and modern.

Creative Arts Studio, located in downtown Royal Oak, offers a variety of classes for both kids and adults. Classes range from Wheel Throwing Classes, which last for 6 weeks, to Raku (an alternative firing technique), to painting, drawing, and clay classes. The studio also offers ornament painting parties for PTA events, during the holidays.

Classes include introductory daytime classes, such as intro to watercolor and intro to drawing, and also Mom and Me painting classes. Articipate also offers evening classes, including Ladies Art Nights, and art party projects.
