Dog's, Cats Removed From Filthy Michigan Home

PARIDISE TOWNSHIP (AP) — Officials say more than two dozen dogs and cats living in what's described as deplorable conditions have been removed from a home in Michigan's northwestern Lower Peninsula.

The animals were seized after Michigan State Police got a call Monday about several dogs running loose along a road in Grand Traverse County's Paradise Township. Police found more dogs and cats at a home where there was feces covering the floor.

Grand Traverse County Animal Control and the Cherryland Humane Society responded. One dog was found dead.

Some of the animals were found in the walls of the home. Police say all of the animals seized were in extremely poor health and appeared to be suffering from dehydration and starvation. The home is expected to be condemned and charges could be brought.
