DETROIT (AP) — Two men have been arraigned on first-degree murder charges in the fatal shooting of a gay man in Detroit.
Prosecutors say 28-year-old Anthony Brock and 30-year-old Darnell Wilson appeared Friday in 36th District Court.
Authorities claim Diano Johnson arranged to meet a man June 19 after connecting on social media. Johnson was locked in the trunk of his car and driven to the city’s eastside where he was shot multiple times.
Brock and Wilson also were arraigned on armed robbery, carjacking and other charges. They were ordered jailed and face Aug. 2 probable cause conferences and Aug. 9 preliminary hearings.
The Fair Michigan Justice Project assisted the prosecutor’s office in the case. The project helps law enforcement officers and prosecutors solve serious crimes against gay, bisexual and transgender people.
