OAK PARK (AP) — Students and faculty at Oak Park High School are mourning the deaths of two teenagers after a car crash that also injured four others.

Friends and family members gathered Sunday in Oak Park to honor the victims of the rollover, which occurred Friday night in Southfield. They were students at Oak Park High School.

Southfield police scheduled a news conference Monday.

“I didn’t know how much he was loved, how much he’s already missed, how much he touched people in their heart, like it’s genuine,” Nakeia Garrett said of her son, JaQai Garrett.

Counselors were available Saturday at the high school.

“We are saddened to share that six Oak Park High School students were involved in a serious car accident resulting in two fatalities. … This is a tragic event that affects our entire school community,” the school said on Facebook.
