Beginners can go to Kensington Metropark where they have classes occasionally. Call ahead for details and pre-registration for a class. (248) 685-0603 or (800) 477-3178

More advanced ice anglers can try Lake St. Clair. Michigan DNR is reporting lots of perch but many are small. They recommend that you try the access sites near the Clinton River Cut-off, Selfridge and Fairhaven.

Don't freeze your butt off sitting on a bucket! Rent an ice fishing shanty and a heater at the nearby Anglers Point Marina for $40 a day. They'll transport it to a spot and drill the hole. Get a complete package including poles for an additional $12.

Another good way to get on some fish is to join the forum over at lakestclair.net. Your best bet is to direct message somone who is actively posting to the fishing reports forum. Be nice and they might tell you where the fish are biting.

If all else fails just go out in the backyard or the neighborhood park and make a snowman or a few snow angels. Make some memories with your kids today!
