The fashion scene in Detroit is growing, and with all of the new designers and stylists comes an array of trunk shows, runway shows and more. So gather your fashionista friends, get dressed to kill and put your best foot forward as you embark on a stylish journey of the city – one event at a time.

The Detroit Auto Show is hosting an ultra luxe event as part of its VIP experience at the MGM Grand Detroit. This exclusive event has featured an annual fashion show since 2007. In previous years, this special showing was an invitation-only affair, extended to a select number of guests. However, this year, officiants of the show are releasing tickets to the general public. Guests who attend this private gathering will experience a strolling pre-glow dinner hosted by Chef Wolfgang Puck, as well as the unveiling of rare vehicles and a post-glow fashion event. The "Trendsetters Tour" is a series of fashion- and beauty-related events which are held at a hotel in the Detroit area. The local activities are based upon the "Trendsetters Weekend" that is being held at the same time in Altanta. Begin the weekend at the launch event – a styling party followed by a "Girls Night Out." Rise from your beauty sleep and head out to a "Mega Shoot" featuring stylists, fashion photographers and makeup artists. Next on the agenda is a showcase and networking event featuring fashion designers, retailers and clothing boutiques. The weekend winds down on Sunday morning at a training workshop designed to teach attendees about the world of modeling. This fashion event was created to showcase local designers and stylists in the burgeoning fashion scene in the Detroit area. Many styles of clothing will be featured on the runway, from street and punk to formal and casual. This inaugural event will also include Hijab Abaya and Hijab Modesty, which will give the audience a unique view into this intriguing aspect of Muslim culture. There is no better setting to catch a glimpse of stunning designs than surrounded by the beautiful art and architecture of the Detroit Institute of Arts. This stylish fundraiser is one of the premiere fashion events in the city. The DIA has been hosting its annual Fash Bash since 1970, and it gets better every year. Events begin with a chic cocktail party held on the museum steps, followed by the runway show held in the Great Hall. End the evening by dancing the night away with other fashionistas. Four tiers of tickets are available; please reserve tickets in advance as this much-anticipated event sells out quickly.
