Cost Plus is located in Detroit's Eastern Market and is known for its varied selection and great customer service. If you don't know the name of a wine you are looking for, the staff can most likely help and can also suggest similar wines. Although the shop's focus is on wine, it does have a beer collection as well. The prices are very reasonable too. If you're sticking to a budget, the staff can help you find a bottle perfect for you and your wallet.

Motor City Wine calls itself a "half wine bar, half wine shop, known for blending wine, music and art." The wine store offers monthly wine tastings too. The owners, David Armin-Parcells and Mark Szymanski, buy organic or sustainably produced wines, and lean towards "small, family-owned vineyards" that offer great value for a great product. You can also drink the wine you buy in the shop for an uncorking fee of $8. Cheese plates, including meats and olives, are also available for purchase a la carte.

This shop specializes in hard-to-find brands, including wine, beer, cigars and liquor. It's one of the last independently owned wine/liquor stores in the Birmingham area, and it has a huge selection of alcohol. The staff is very friendly and will even help you carry your items to your car if you need help with them. Ml also carries a vast selection of Michigan-brewed beers and wines, and its "wine enthusiast" Jose can help you choose a wine that will fit your tastes and budget.

D.vine is a wine-tasting bar that also offers its products for sale. Formerly known as Wine Styles, it's located in a small strip mall off of Haggerty, between 6 and 7 Mile Roads. It offers a wine club and parties on the first Friday of every month, as well as wine tastings every Thursday, which includes cheese and crackers. Advance reservations are required for these tastings. Don't forget to also join the d.vine club to get rewards and discounts on wine, too.

Cloverleaf Fine Wine and Craft Beer can be found in the "basement" area of Pizzeria Biga, on Main Street in Royal Oak, and street parking as well as meters are nearby. Cloverleaf offers wine tastings on Saturdays and a huge selection of wine, as well as craft beers. Its wine selection is comprised of wines from all over the world and includes hard-to-find varieties.
